Bob, so sorry to hear this. I know how much you must have wanted to get
over to Owl's Head. You were bouncing back so quickly too.

The same thing happened to a good friend of my mom's, but following spinal
surgery in her case. She is fine now. However, for about two months she
had to deal with getting the infection killed via IV's and her recovery
restarted. It was a drag. She was about seventy, and the body doesn't
repair as rapidly then. But this is fixable with a little time. She is
back to normal now and there have been no left over problems.

Hang in there and get well soon!!

October8th to 11th

Hi everyone,

I have had a serious setback with my motorcycle accident recovery after 3
months on the mend as a bone infection set in about 2 weeks ago and I was
back in the hospital to have the pins, plates etc., replaced with antibiotic
ones and now have home care nurses coming in every day to administer an
antibiotic intra-venously (PICC line) for the next 3 weeks. To make matters
even worse, I have to have this antibiotic hardware replaced with Titanium
in about 5 weeks. How much medical abuse can a man take? Lots! This had
ruined an otherwise perfect summer.

Obviously, because of all this medical crap, I have very reluctantly been
forced to cancel my reservations for the Owls Head event in Rockland, ME
which I was so much looking forward to attending and meeting all our online
subscribers who are coming up this way. My Sunbeam Talbots and Alpine have
not moved from their winter storage positions in the garage but been started
every 6 weeks or so to keep them active. Sadly, it looks like they won't be
put to use until next summer. Bummer!

In any case, I am sure this will be a memorable experience for all of you
attending. Have fun!

Regards,
Bob
