[Sunbeam Talbot Email List] Alpine in the rain-leaky windshield..............

hello all,

A friend was sitting in my Alpine the other day and commented on the "gaps" between the top of the dash/cowl, and the rubber that seals the bottom of the windshield....... he asked if rain water comes in when it is raining (at that point I realized that my Alpine - while in my posession - has never been out in the rain)!

Anyway......... looking carefully at the rubber going across the bottom of the windshield shows it to be nice and supple - not all hard and aged, or anything like that........ but yes, if you are sitting in the car and bend down a bit and look at the area where the bottom windshield rubber meets the top of the dash/cowl, there are 2 or 3 areas where you can see daylight..........

So...   anyone else have this problem?   is it common?  do I need MORE RUBBER - or????????

Clearly, should I drive it in the rain, water is going to come pouring in...........

tks, ray
