Hi Kevin, Dan et al 

I have 180 Alpines registered to current members of STAR on the club's
database.

In addition there are records of  an additional 110 Alpines owned by lapsed
or deceased members going back about ten years on a separate database, but
taking in to account the proportion (about 40) that have been transferred to
current members, this leaves us with an approximate figure of 250 known.

Of course these figures do not include the cars still in existence worldwide
that are not known to the Club - perhaps another 50.

Thanks Kevin.  Poor thing has sure been cobbled-up.  
 
The seller makes a fuss about the number of these cars left as fewer than
200.  Makes me wonder.  Has anyone developed a thoughtful estimate of the
number of these roadsters that are left.  I recall the known count being
around 105, so I have been thinking there must be another 15 or 20 stashed
somewhere.  I am just guessing, of course, thinking out loud.  And, that is
lightly based on someone in our email association here pointing out a couple
of years that we knew where (I seem to recall) 105 or so are.  Any idea?

another alpine on e-bay,   150476126620     says its a 54 but I don't see a
tach in the dash
