Hi Bill, that bracket in your photo,isn't an original item, I do put a bracket in the same place to hold the soft top header rail when the top is down, but this is more of a large hook type bracket, that faces up to trap the header rail. If you look at page 40 of the owners handbook you will see the hood storage,including two wooden corner blocks, these were to hold the header rail, when the top is stowed away,but I find these aren't successful,and fit the bracket I mentioned, you can also see the side screen strap and its correct position.         Should this bracket point up or is it correct at 90 deg from the back panel? 
        What does it do ? Is it to rest the frame of the hood one in storage ?

        Also, the side screens when stored are secured by a strap from a bracket 
        at the top of the rear panel and I assume the other end going to a buckle 
        somewhere near this bracket ?
