[Sunbeam Talbot Email List] Side Screen Bracket

Should this bracket point up or is it correct at 90 deg from the back panel? 
What does it do ? Is it to rest the frame of the hood one in storage ?

Also, the side screens when stored are secured by a strap from a bracket 
at the top of the rear panel and I assume the other end going to a buckle 
somewhere near this bracket ?
