Hi Martin, hope you sort out your overdrive problems soon,
Ray if you are reading this. one thing I forgot in my email ref removing the heater,if fact there are two metal cables you have to remove, one as mentioned to the heater tap,the other, same area is to the opening air flap in the round tube housing, that let air into the heater blower. when you put the heater control to hot, this round tube is conected to the large rubber elbow off of the heater blower under the bonnet. Dear Ray,
Once you have followed Mal's directions for the removal of your heater, can I suggest that you don't put it back until you have paid considerable attention to the operating cables for the heat and direction controls. These can frequently be stiff to operate and the pinch bolts can easily slip. Lubricating the cables or retightening the connections is near impossible with the heater in situ. Despite trying my best while the heater was out I still wound up with no heat for 8 days in near arctic conditions. I hope you have more success.
Regards,
Martin clarke
