He loves (d) his motorcycle but I think this was the last straw.  He was driving through a small town with cars parked along the side of the street and a car pulled out from a driveway between these cars without looking.  Anyway, he is out of surgery and leg all bandaged up.  He is a little heavier due to the pins and plates but the Dr says he is good.  He was in good spirits when I left tonight but that may have been the drugs.  I believe you will hear from  him in the next 24 hours when he gets his cell phone back
