I assume that you're talking about the "American" hood [Brit bonnet]. If you are happy with the alignment ,mark the hinge and bonnet by making a reference mark on the hinge and bonnet either with a sharp awl or marker pen so that you can realign them on reassembly. What the H--- is boom mat and why would you want to apply all this stuff??? You can remove the bonnet single handed.Just place a towel or some such soft packing between the bonnet and scuttle so that when you remove the bolts there is a cushion to protect the paint. After bolt removal support the front of the bonnet with one hand, lower the support stay and lift the bugger off.

hello all
anyone taken the hood completely off?
i want to take mine off, spray the underside with Boom Mat spray,
then apply some Boom Mat panels, and finally top it all off with
Heat and Tunnel shield.............
seems to me that removing the hood is going to be at least a 2 person job??
anything i should watch out for???
tks, ray
