on the dash.
All the three other colours had the ivory colour.

  I’m still in the midst of sorting out the smaller details on my 53 Alpine
with the intention of keeping it as original as possible. Regarding the
exhaust, I’m not trying to hot rod the car, it’s just that the previous
owner pinched the tailpipe down with all its bends to the point of serious
constriction. I’ll replace it and run it out the back, but with more careful
bending.

  The purpose of this email is to ask about the steering wheel on the car.
It’s completely black and from what I can tell it’s the original wheel that
went with the car which was always a white body, but originally a dark brown
interior with a white dash and black knobs. In all my searching every Alpine
that I have found a photo of has a white steering wheel. In fact I haven’t
seen a car without a white wheel. Can anyone explain why this steering wheel
